5th day on the trot, Avon 3-4.30 got proper windy later than forecast at about 3.45 but made wrong change down to 4.7 - it was 4.2. Still warm with some solid onshore chunks to ride & jump. Bit of a contrast to yesterday's glorious x-off fnr'y dtl. A few others out

Having missed yesterday, the best day at Avon for years (from the look of the photos) I was determined to sail today. Got to Avon about 10.30 to find the wind more on shore than forecast but there seemed to be enough wind for my 66L & 4.1 so I rigged and went out. The sail was fine but the wind was pretty gusty and there were horrible currents from the river. You could see where the river water ended by the change from brown to greeny blue (don't swallow any water in the brown bit!)! Sailed for a couple of hours until the wind dropped a lot and called it a day (I left just as Charlie turned up).

I've been sailing Avon for years but realised that I've never sailed in on shore before, it was very odd, unlike anywhere else.
