Saturday 30th Easterly?

Post by BillG » Thu Nov 28, 2019 5:41 pm

Can anybody suggest a south coast venue for Saturday? The current forecast is for easterly and I'd go to Hayling but it's high tide at midday which isn't much fun. Anywhere sailable around the Avon area?

I’m down in Cornwall and was thinking of Marazion on Saturday as that is supposed to be good in an easterly?

Looks like it might be quite fun. Mind you I've probably jinxed it now!

Mazza can be good in an easterly if there's swell. launch from the east end car park if it's ESE.

It’s currently dark here at Praa Sands but it sounds like there are some waves.

I’ll do a Dawn Patrol around 1030* tomorrow and see what’s what. Not been on the water since Tiree so not looking for anything epic...

* This timing may be flexible depending on how much ale I rehydrate with tonight :D

Given the iffy forecast and temperature, I’d rather put my nuts in a vice!
Looks better east of the Isle of Wight for the desperate.

Mr PK
Are you sure about that? Just looked at BBC for Cornwall and its honking easterly. Maybe you are looking at Avon and Bournemouth area.
However here in Hove I confirm it is sunnyish and greyish and beep cold. And I have no intention of anything bar eating and drinking :D
Next weekend though could be problematic. My wife wants to go shopping. With me
