Day 4.

The wind continues and a lot of racing was completed. Discards are changing the order - especially in the men's division. This event seems to be restoring the top 3 men of the previous years to the top again - but in what order? The battle for the World Championship is getting closer.

Injuries.
Tuesday-Lou Judd has seemingly broken a foot. Cedric Bordes, a suspected broken rib - but he is racing on Day 5, so probably just bruised?. Fulya Unlu, a broken nose. Nimet Tulumen an injured foot and Luis Boronat also injured.
It was very windy and choppy on day 3, with a lot of crashes at the marks.

Jenna Gibson doing really well, you wouldn't want to tangle with her at the gybe mark! Sarah Jackson also right up there. Nice to see some British women at the top.

Day 5 - the penultimate day. Tomorrow might still change the men's podium completely, but in the women's the battle is for 3rd place.

Enrico Marotti very happy to take a bullet for the first time, and Amado gets his best slalom result too.

Macieck's minimal foot protection has taken him to currently 3rd position.

One of the best slalom events I can recall seeing. The coverage was certainly very good when it wasnt pissing down and too far offshore.
I thought Ben was going to start swearing at people at FB comments like 'cant you zoom in a bit' and 'why isnt the drone up'

Ben did swear about that - and apologised. :D The drone guys did a great job and the drone footage this year is making the events great to watch. It is also showing how entertaining windsurf slalom racing could be in the Olympics. They are not at the professional presentation level yet, but with foil slalom, windy windsurf slalom, head cams and drones, the Show could make great TV. It would still need enough wind, but with foiling slalom, the threshold would be quite low - if they can pass the start line foiling, they can probably keep flying to the finish in about 5 knots.

There is great strength in depth in the men's Series now, and they would need to get the same depth of talent in the women's - so there would need to be a move to support the women's slalom more. If it were to become an Olympic event, then that could do a lot to raise the support for women's slalom.
