Sunday 28th April

Back to Hayling Island for a second day with Simon Bornhoft.
What a difference a day makes !
What was monumental yesterday, was butter smooth today, sunny, warm with gentle 15 to 10 knots cross off wind, a bit west of NW?

Only 5 of us there, (and I think I was the oldest which is great!) all on big boards, mostly sups, with medium size sails.
Focus on core skills, then tacks and working up to Heli tacks, all the stuff I’ve merrily avoided in the last decade or so, but pays huge dividends in general sailing.

Surprisingly challenging for an inflexible old fart, with so many bad habits, but Simon’s smooth east instruction and endless demonstrating is inspirational. I’ll definitely be looking for similar conditions in the future and forcing myself to practice and train in the future, and with summer coming, I can share the love with the family.

Watched you all on the webcam for a bit. Interesting that Simon had you all out in almost no wind.
