Tuesday 16th August

An lone early morning hour and a half sail at Brock before the wind disappeared. Nice to use a 4.7 comfortably after yesterday's mayhem. Cross on with some small waves and I'm getting the hang of going down the line in on shore port tack. Much easier when it's not nuclear.

Glad you got out! We headed to Balevullin around 1. Waves were lovely; shoulder high and peeling down the line. Took out 4.7 Combat and 83l Ultimate Wave but it was bolt offshore; there was enough wind to comfortably bog about but not enough to get onto a wave ;(

Gave it up as a bad job after a while and went for a surf, but it was too high tide by then and the waves became very weak. Can’t complain though, the past few days have been awesome!

Surfing at Newgale.
Enticed the family out in sweet 2 to 3 foot waves in the morning on my performance longboard, and daughter on fish, wife and son on boogers.
Had a great time with loads of waves shared in good peeling left and right beach break conditions. Not too cold!

Challenging solo evening surf about 6 till 8 on fish.
Tide was still a bit high, and there was lots of bounce and backwash.
Smaller waves weren’t breaking easily and larger sets closing out.
Managed to snag a few waves but not much reward for the effort. At least the sun came out and it’s a beautiful spot.
Tomorrow and the rest of the week look great fun though think poleboarding action is finished.

Great to hear from Tiree chaps. Hope the ferry is running!
