South Coast foiling beaches

Post by MancMatt »

Hi, which beaches are good for foiling, particularly between Littlehampton and Brighton?
The reason I ask is last Saturday my mate and I went to Littlehampton, as I thought it wind get windier than forecast there due to “local effects”. My mate tried to foil, but because it is shallow for such a long way out when the tide is low, he kept grounding his foil.
Which other beaches in that area do people recommend?
Thanks

Littlehampton is not the place to foil at low tide! Go to the Shoreham area. Even there on a spring low tide you have to wade out for a few minutes, but it's much better than the alternatives.

High tide (+/- 3hrs) Worthing, though if it's not shorebreak-y then anywhere will do. Worthing is less choppy than Shoreham at high tide, good if you're learning.

There should be foiling wind both today and hopefully tomorrow too.
