Re: SUP Foil surfing

The Bouyer brothers SUP foiling their windfoil RRD Pocket Rockets. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNM7l0o3mog Generally they avoid showing the paddle out in videos. That might be why wing foiling is gaining in popularity? - if there is enough wind. That looks almost impossible without some kind of...

Re: SUP Foil surfing

It's got a bit of SUP and a bit of foiling in it. :D He can wingfoil well - but I haven't seen him windsurfing.

Re: SUP Foil surfing

It's starting to look like SUP is going to be dropped from most crossover foil boards, as it is too incompatible with the sizes and shapes that work best for foiling. Having used a SUP which was modified to take a foil, I think that there will still be SUP boards that have a foil option (and maybe w...

Re: RRD Pocket Rocket

The new boards do have Y25 on them as RRD's slightly confusing year system, so it should be obvious whether it is a current board. Had a proper second go out on mine yesterday. Cheated utterly and went to Esso beach for flat water and had coaching too. Inboard straps in their middle screw positions...

Re: Right of way on a wav

Sailing in / out priority: the person sailing out has priority Eg You are riding a wave in about to make a bottom turn. A sailor on their way out is slightly downwind of you and in the way. If they don't move your wave ride will be ruined. Tough, they are on the way out (navigating whitewater etc) ...

Re: Monday 22 June

I've had 3 sessions on the 2020 JP Freestyle 105 since lockdown. Just freeriding and building fitness. Really liking the board - just have to gybe it using the rear 1/3rd, as the mid rails straighten it out if you try to use them. Used 5.3m, 5.0m and on Monday 5.9m and 5.0m when I should have been o...

Re: Lockdown Windsurf Videos

A full video of the best windsurf wave riding contest of all time. 2007 Cabo Verde PWA.

I think the music and editing could be improved, but the waves and sailing are superb.

Re: Windfoil + wingfoil boards.

Ben Proffitt on winging. His board doesn't have a sail attachment point, but he has promised to try the wing on a board that does.

Pro windsurfer who can windfoil winging on flat water isn't going to be typical of someone new to it, but he admits that.
