Re: Board Sizes

so whats the new norm for wave board sizing - ie for 1 all rounder -> 20 litres more than weight in kg?? I would say as a one only board about 5 ltrs over your weight. A 2 board quiver would be one near your weigh and one +15 ltrs But some people sail small boards and others sail relatively big boa...

Re: Board Sizes

Sailing aside, I would not go for the young gun as it will be warrantied up to a certain weight and you are only going to get heavier. While it might be a great shape it is unlikely to have quite as much reinforcement built into it hence they tend to state a maximum weight of rider. Sailing today? H...

Re: What kit are you flying on?

I’d be interested in your thoughts on the new blue AHD 85 So far I have only used it once. I had high hopes for it since I really liked the AHD SL2. I use it with a AFS W95 and with that it is the best balanced board I have had. As you say it was developed with the AFS foils so it should balance. H...

Re: What kit are you flying on?

Hi RodBos Are you saying that your JP is wanting to rise all the time? And I guess you have moved the straps and mast foot to the front? I can imagine the JP doing that as I thought it had a natural tendency to lift. I suppose its designed to help people to get up into the air and then if the foil i...

Re: What kit are you flying on?

For something that spends most of it's time clear of the water, what is it about the board that was worth the wait? Good question. There are a few important considerations for the board despite it being in the air. 1/ How easily it takes off which is a combination of tail shape and rear footstrap p...

Re: Boards you wish you'd never sold

Boards I wish I hadn't sold 1985 Island Style custom quad, I didn't actually sell it, I snapped it instead. Goya One, sold it, missed it so bought another and finally sold the second one once I had the new witchcraft chakra AHD SL2 for foiling, sold it, tried lots of others and ended up buying anoth...

Re: Claw gloves, do they work?

I have the claw gloves, they do work but in truth I don't find them any warmer than palmless mits. As has been said, they are fine for general sailing but I would not want to wave sail in them. These are warmer - https://www.neilpryde.com/collections/gloves/products/armor-skin-3-finger-mitt-5mm than...
