Re: What kit are you flying on?

So, trying to decipher this thread but it becomes a very technical discussion. For an average ability rider and sea conditions, what kind of free ride performance are you all experiencing? I’m interested to see if a foil board with a small rig is going to offer substantial return, eg fly in 5 knots...

Re: Foiling stance - rig geometry... Advice pls

I use lines 4" shorter than on my wave boards (28") and I have my boom just 1" higher. I also have the lines a fraction forward and I hold the boom more forward than normal. If it get windy and I am over powered my hands go much further forward on the boom. It makes it easier to push down through th...

Re: Windfoil Sails.

Maybe. Before I took it apart it wasn't a bad sail.

I have been doing a bit of work on it today after making foil and wing covers.

Re: Windfoil Sails.

I used the new sail today and it did everything I hoped it would do. It was about 15-22kts and the sail was happy in it all. It certainly felt more settled. The best way to describe it is "forgettable" which is what I wanted. If I had to make another I would make it a tiny fraction flatter in the fo...

Re: What kit are you flying on?

Well RodBos you went and jinxed my board. I went and dropped a fin on it and it went through the bottom of the board. I'm not very pleased with myself. And then to make matters worse as soon as I had put some epoxy on it the wind got up and it would have been great conditions for the little board.

Re: What kit are you flying on?

I got some long awaited AFS 1000 wings today. Luckily I managed to take them straight onto the water and they went well. https://scontent-lht6-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/61145658_346909132677379_390870383605055488_n.jpg?_nc_cat=102&_nc_ht=scontent-lht6-1.xx&oh=188f90f1d7547520f0e358d13641fbeb&oe=5D95DB...

Re: What kit are you flying on?

Are you asking me or ronnie, both having different JP 105s? I had a 135 Wood and like you its paint would chip off if you so much as looked at the board. that is why I got a carbon one this time, More expensive but at least I have half a chance of being able to do a invisible repair. I haven't used ...

Re: Windfoil Sails.

very nice sailrepair which mast did you build it round ? have you tired it yet? Being the Maverx importer it is designed for the MX100 which is a constant curve rdm. I don't think the sail will be too mast critical. Unfortunately no enough wind to try it. It has all been big sail weather. I have ju...
