Re: Stiff back.....exercise, eternal youth.....

I'm going to go with Arf's advice and some squats. Or else sign up to Pilates..... Core strength. And stretches. It's not bad enough for anti-inflammatories, it is more I know I need to be pro-active. I've always focussed on the fun stuff, cardio-vascular running and cycling. Not averse to beer/vino...

Re: Sunday 17th March

That's a bit nasty, whatever it was. I'm always a bit sceptical of journalist reports, often they can't distinguish between kites and windsurfers (a more likely scenario). Have to say I would have thought someone getting hurt and the other getting into difficulty attempting to rescue seems more like...

Stiff back.....exercise, eternal youth.....

I have managed to avoid back injury so far, and hope to keep it that way. I like sailing fairly powered up and use a pro-limit waist harness. I guess it is not suprising but after my two hours yesterday I am pretty stiff today, less stiff than yesterday evening. The stiffness corresponds to where th...

Re: Sunday 17th March

Five sails or six I could see from Marroccos Hove, 3 off Hove lawns and a couple up off the Lagoon.I got there last and launched 1.30 with my 6.1 and 106 and it was perfect. Heard the word "blustery" about four times on the radio forecast. Sure enough the wind was up and down. Shame I don't notice t...

Re: How did you get good?

Curious as to where your local beach is? I'm always surprised some sailors avoid having big kit eg 7m sails and big boards. If you are time restricted it is a pain if the wind is just below the threshold. All my big kit is eBay. Not sexy but does the job. Still fun and keeps you motivated. Can't see...

Re: Friday 15th March 2019

Well better than moping about with a stupid cold for the last two weeks!
I've been hoping to read more reports of HWIFY and been surprised by the lack of them, maybe the during worktime crowd need to stay below the radar :D .
