Re: Windsurfing in the news

Nice one.
Coolest guy on the water. I guess no kitesurfers were out.

Re: Saturday January 12th 2019

Great session for me. Fully powered 101 litre + 5.8m. Cross Canonby, Cumbria. Tide was coming in and ramps getting bigger & bigger as time went one. Shame I’m so crap at jumping. Dull, dark raining day. Rain felt icy on my face at the start but was OK once the blood got pumping. Still no boots eithe...

Re: Paint matching for repairs.

As you can see I eventually found a perfect colour match for my board and effected a professional and near invisible repair.

Re: Injuries.

I’ve been quite lucky, far less injuries windsurfing than my other activities.. but then I don’t do all that wave & aerial stuff. I did badly stub my big toe last year and the nail fell off two times. :D If you do anything physical you get injuries. If you don’t you get couch potato diseases. Take y...

Re: RYA SafeTrx

No I wasn’t planning to take the phone to sea. Just use the feature that SMS’s your contact if you’re more than 30min after your due time. So just a variation on my current method on telling the wife when I expect to be back. But it stores your launch point, car reg/make/colour etc so all those deta...

RYA SafeTrx

Anybody using this?
I'm thinking of using it... but then most of the time I sail alone but perhaps wouldn't bother with company.

Re: 7m Severne Gator (2017)

I found a solution myself.
With a tidy rope end…
Just push the rope end in as far as it will go while at the same time with the other hand turning the pulley wheel.

My last 2 sessions I used this sail with this threading technique so it can be done with cold hands!

last day of 2018. 31 Dec.

Cross Canonby. JP Allride 116 + 7m. Superb conditions today. Sailed from 12:30 until bad light stopped play. As I was winding up the sun came out just as it disappeared below the Isle of Man for a great sunset. When I launched it was right on LW and the sea was unusually flat and I was going faster ...

Re: Check your mast base tendons

What make is that? The Chinook tendon was the holes at 90 degrees to each other, not parallel. Not sure if that makes a difference or not. Unifiber tendon in a Neil Pryde mastbase. As far as new ones breaking it think it’s down to manufacturing quality. The shelf life of these things must be decade...

Saturday 29th Dec 2018

Crikey nobody else out over the holidays? Cross Canonby, near Allonby Cumbria. 100l + 7.0m. Car thermometer reading 11°C. Due to forecast went for an “early” start this morning and hit the water as daylight proper set in. Wind a bit over/under for the first hour then the sun came out and the wind fi...
