Re: 12 July

Harrington. 116l 7.8m. My favourite summer activity yesterday, parallel shore blasting in an on-shore wind. Strange wind. Fully powered for 5 mins then near zero for 5 mins, not even enough to waterstart. Wobbling / waiting to WS in on-shore conditions not comfortable … but great stuff when blasting...

Shampoo recommendation

Good hair brings confidence and a boost to your social relationships and attractiveness.
It will also help you nail those short board tacks.

Re: Water proof radio or phone for safety

Yes a PLB looks like a good idea. There’s one here at £186. https://www.globaltelesat.co.uk/ocean-signal-rescueme-plb1?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8rS3gMuE4wIVmYjVCh1ZygrmEAQYASABEgKv7fD_BwE despite the “ocean” in the title there is some discussion here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KO0Wuo3sdI saying they ...

Re: Water proof radio or phone for safety

I’m a bit out of date but marine VHF radios aren’t small. And you’ll need a dry bag to keep them in because they are not reliably waterproof… so ends up very bulky. Also you need a VHF license to legally operate it; not difficult to pass but still a few quid and a day’s course. Really you need to do...

Re: Monday 17 June

Bad luck for my after work session. Launched on my 5.2m but just too big to handle comfortably. So swapped to my 4.5 but after one reach the wind dropped. Hung around then gave up because at LW it’s a ½ mile trek back to the car to change again. When I win the lottery I’m going to employ a sail wal...

Friday 21st June

Superb session at Crosscanonby on my 116l 6.2m under blue sky and sunshine. Also managed a similar session last night after work. I needed this… had too many sessions lately where the wind strength went opposite to my sail choices and changes…. I was beginning to forget just how easy and enjoyable w...

Re: Hayling Kite armada

A kiter on the beach last weekend said he was waiting for the tide to drop because sand was needed to launch. Doesn’t sound right to me… is it? Do they mean they need lots of room to launch? Obvs nothing stops them walking in once the kite is up? Could be. but it's a deserted beach with gently slop...
