Re: When is a wetsuit too old?

Implications is that unless you use your suit very regularly and wear it out in a few years, its a false economy to buy old stock at a modest discount.

Re: When is a wetsuit too old?

Now that i look at it closely there are a few small areas where the neoprene seems to have compressed permanently to almost nothing, not due to wear but just age for example down both sides where it is naturally more folded when hanging on a hanger. I suspect this is a problem with the fancier new n...

Re: When is a wetsuit too old?

Thanks- that fits my suspicion. Feels very wasteful/environmentally bad though! So what are people’s recommendation for winter wetsuits? I have stuck to oneill for ages as they fit me so easy to bu on line (whilst billabong seem weirdly narrow in the leg) but will probably have time over Christmas t...

When is a wetsuit too old?

Do wetsuits get too old even if they havent fallen apart? Im wondering if i should move on from my winter wetsuit. Its a 2013 or 2014 vintage and is in pretty good shape but i suspect its lost a lot of its flex and seems nowhere near as warm as it once was (although warm enough today mostly). But ma...

Re: Friday 6th December

Hayling. Struggling. Either over powered or underpowered, never just right. Found one nice inshore wave (few seemed to be bothering or noticing that there were waves there, but I just followed BillG).. I also really charged intentionally at a steep section on the way out, impersonating someone who a...

Re: Child's rig

If its a fairly small footed sail you can probably run a line from the UJ up to the clew on your boom and tie the clew of your kids boom into that at roughly the right point. Wont be putting a ton of force through it anyway.

Re: Child's rig

Also, on the getting them to sail together with you, an issue is getting the boom low enough for it to be comfortable for them (not banging into their forehead given they probably cant lean out as much as you would want them to given you are right behind them). I think people sometimes get an extra ...

Try asking on Facebook "Youth Windsurfing Scene" as well as the more general windsurf kit for sale.

Re: New electric van

Im equally passionate about it! The other things people dont get at first about electric vehicles are: 1) the more miles it does then the more cost effective it is (I guess I save roughly £1000 per 10,0000 miles), so EVs make no sense for low mileage owners, and enormous sense for ultra high mileage...

Re: Tuesday 26th of November

Whilst Im a past master at the WOS maneouvre, I can also claim early proficiency at the rarely observed and far more technical DOS, that BillG demonstrated yesterday. Its only possible at a few venues like Avon, and involves coming in so far down wind at the end of a session and in such a state of e...
