Variable morning at Hayling. First half utter disaster with stinging rain and wind varying from ballistic to too little (including a bit of a swim in) and endless rig changing and changing again. Eventually settled down at 11am, very well powered on 5.7 and 103 triwave - some jumps and fun slashy gybing on swell further out. Wish i had trekked to Avon, but i had 2 sails to drop off for repair at Sail style and needed to be back early too.

"Other things" meant I delayed launching until 5pm at Marroccos. A bit of a blast with my 6m for an hour, quite enjoyable, a bit of tourism off the end of the West pier, but it was dropping steadily and a monster walk of shame.

Hove from 6.
Felt windy but didn’t look it. Rigged S1 5.6 on Nano 93 but it mostly wasn’t enough.
Picked up a bit between 7 and 8, but still felt like paying dues.
Still, sunny, reasonably warm out of the water and always special to sail as the sun goes down.

As Rod said, a beautiful day at Avon with the usual suspects (does anybody do any work down there?). Wind was just cross off 4.1 for me fine all day, the waves were best late morning and I got an occasional nice ride down in front of the cafe, more by luck than judgement.

Due to the warm sunshine I made the mistake of wearing my spring 4/3 wetsuit and although my body din't feel cold my fingers eventually went numb and I called it a day at 2.30. Well worth the drive.

Yep cracking 6h sesh @Avon. Got 3/4s of the way round a backie a couple of times late on. Counted about 30 others out at one point. Great forward advice from Rod, just need to get one of those Eclipses!
