Cardiff area Sunday

Post by billyboy » Fri Jun 07, 2019 12:51 pm

Any South Wales windsurfers (@rod??) out there - any chance of catching a sail this coming Sunday. Not a lot on windguru but it seems the right direction for a "sea breeze" or whatever the local effect is! Any spots worth checking? 5.5m and 100l FS board is my biggest kit...

cheers!

B

PS. Don't tell me how good Saturday will be. I can't sail Saturday :(

The best guide is the windfinder superforecast maps. The only forecast that shows the local effects.

This needs to be showing green / 19knots for it to be sailable. It is usually very accurate.

At the moment it doesn't look great, but you never know. An outgoing tide helps when the wind is low (but dampens the waves at all spots).

Thanks Rod. Needless to say Saturday was howling and Sunday calm. Same as it ever was!

I never noticed the “superforecast” option on the windfinder map.
Just checked it for my local beach on Saturday and it makes a big difference! Let’s see how it comes to pass.
Thanks for the heads-up
