best glue for wetsuit repair

Post by DavidA » Wed May 08, 2019 2:20 pm

I have got a load of nicks about inch long in my double lined 4/3 wetsuit. Looking for some glue that I could use to fill the hole but still remain flexible. Not sure what everybody uses for this problem? Any brand names I should look for?

Black Witch neoprene adhesive is readily available in surf and windsurf shops.
It’s a melting adhesive so make sure the surfaces are clean and dry, yes you should rinse in fresh water!
Then just apply a small amount and press the surfaces together, and keep pressing together.
If you leave a bead on the surface, that will protect the cut underneath.
If you can do when it’s warm and allow the bond to fully cure before use, that is best.

I marginally prefer Neoprene Queen, after decades using black witch - seems to stay flexible longer, and half used tube doesn't go off quite as fast. Might be my imagination though.
