Hi!

Got into foiling this year and have been enjoying some summer days in Sweden on my converted Flare 93. Check it out!

Great video and skills! What foil / wing are you using?

There seems to be an interest in a freestyle board foiling option.

Flikka Boards say their hybrid freestyle/foil board option is very popular.

Thanks man! Starboard 1300 wave setup with a 65 mast. 270 stab. Super smooth foil, although I would suggest a longer mast to make it easier not to foil out on 360s.

JP’s production freestyle board is now foil ready. Makes sense for those coming to foiling from a wave/freestyle brand; you don’t have to buy a massive formula board you’ll never use for anything else if you want to get into foiling, whereas a freestyle board with a foil option is much better value for money.

I've been considering converting my 100l FS board. It would seem that adding a foil would give it a massive wind range covering all non-wavesailing conditions from 10knts+ with no need to use bigger sails. The ultimate summer toy? Maybe for next summer...

Definitely an interesting idea but I almost always need to uphaul during foil sessions. Not every time I fall, but often.

That's because the wind is often light, often comes and goes (more so than on a windy day) and I'm using a sail far smaller than regular windsurfing (8.5/6.5 regular windsurfing to 5.8/4.7 for foil).

Also if you can waterstart easily you will most likely be overpowered on the foil. Or that is what I have found.

Thanks Ruaraidh,
I think the freestyle foil hybrid does have a market - especially for the 105 litre. I miss having a lightwind windsurf board - so I can see the attraction. This is a 92 litre JP Freestyle board being used by a 60kg rider, who will be getting the same size board with the foil ready box in November.

I have now bought the 105, but will wait for the 80cm mast to be available and also buy the powerbox head in time for next Spring.
