I want to see someone uphaul or waterstart one of those "no nose" boards. I also want to see what happens when you drop from over foiling. Sail spinning tells me nothing about the board.

This shows the waterstart of a 127cm no-nose on the second page, but its about 45 litres.

Right at the end.

Not quite a no-nose. Crashes.

Thanks for those clips Ronnie. So water starting looks ok in a windy sort of way. Touching down doesn't look advisable.

I have got close but not quite got there yet. I know how your wife feels. I think when you back the sail and if you are leaning it well over you actually get the mast foot wanting to lift which if you still have much forward speed lets the board jump out the water. Although I crash I quite like it as everything sometimes goes flying up in the air in a spectacular fashion. The closest I have got to completing a 360 is when I have kept the rig quite upright (light winds). Another interesting thing happens if its windy and I am high on the foil and lower the rig below horizontal as the wind then pushes it down into the water which then acts as a pivot for the board to go around.

Here is is often gusty so half the battle is predicting whether to lean the rig right over for stronger winds or leave it more upright for lighter winds. Here the water is 7c and the air 8c so once things warm up a bit I will make more of a conscious effort to get round.
