That's bloody impressive!
They really seem to have this dialled in now.
I'm guessing it'll be a development race now for the next few seasons before the designs and technologies settle down. It still seems a bit crude and "draggy", maybe it needs dedicated boards and sails before we see the real advances.

They have it pretty well dialled for course racing on the foils, and are getting down to about 6 knots of wind for holding races (the limit for normal downwind windsurf slalom is 7 knots). They might get down to 5 knots for racing with more development, maybe gliding through very short lulls below that.

The interesting recent development is downwind slalom with the foils, which was run in the PWA event on the Costa Brava. This video discusses it, and it seems to have advantages for slalom sized sailors competing against the lightweight RSX sailors. It also seems to require less wind. There may be a possibility that if they are flying at the start, they may be able to pump through short lulls and finish a lot of heats in very light wind.

If that becomes the preferred type of racing while waiting for enough wind for the PWA windsurf slalom, then the development race could shift from developing course racing windfoils to developing downwind slalom foils and boards.
