Re: What kit are you flying on?

I want to use <= 6m sails. I wouldn't do it otherwise. I've never enjoyed windsurfing with a sail > 6m and don't think I will start now!

I might see if there is somewhere close by I can get a reasonably priced intro. This weekend could be ideal...

Re: What kit are you flying on?

2 hr intro to foiling 260 euros on Garda!! 4 day rental of kit about the same. Not sure if they will rent you the kit without the intro The intro is 1v1 coaching but even so, do I want to try it THAT much! Even being able to go out in lighter winds won't up my session count all that much at the mome...

Re: Narrow Dia Carbon boom

I've used my new duotone now and am very impressed. Even though I already use carbon booms it felt noticeably stiffer and the narrow diameter really helps with forearm cramps and blister reduction (I am prone to both as I don;t sail very often!). Its a luxury purchase for sure but one that makes a r...

Re: What kit are you flying on?

It's nice to hear accounts of wavesailors taking up foiling. The thing that puts me (and plenty of others!) off is that it really does look boring unless ballz muller is doing it! It does sound like its not as boring as it looks though. I'm at Lake Garda for 10 days in August. Maybe that is a good o...

Re: Sun 16th June

Hove, 2.30-5.30. Looked quite promising on arrival as I saw a short board surfer make a few turns in the shorebreak and I wasn't really expecting waves. Decent session on 5m and wave board but the waves didn't amount to much as the tide dropped so it was hard to find a ramp, but there was the odd on...

Re: Saturday 8th June

England vs Bangladesh in Cardiff. Sunny and warm, great company, lots of food and beer. Whats not to like? Well, imagining what conditions a short distance away must be like for a start! Why, in my largely empty social diary, do 2 things I really want to do have to happen on the same day? Alt...

Re: Narrow Dia Carbon boom

I bought a duotone reduced diamater carbon boom a couple of weeks back. It was at least £100 cheaper than the alternatives so hard to justify any of the others! I'm yet to use it but they really are small diameter. I wouldn't mind betting you could wear thin gloves without getting forearm cramps...

Thanks Rod. Needless to say Saturday was howling and Sunday calm. Same as it ever was!

Cardiff area Sunday

Any South Wales windsurfers (@rod??) out there - any chance of catching a sail this coming Sunday. Not a lot on windguru but it seems the right direction for a "sea breeze" or whatever the local effect is! Any spots worth checking? 5.5m and 100l FS board is my biggest kit... cheers! B PS. Don't tell...
