^ best day ever!

After you left Bill the waves got epic again! Lots of backloop crashes and some fun turns. Nice to get winter wind and waves with summer temperature! 😁
Oh well, cross off tomorrow with a steàdier wind!

Saturday 17th August

Epic day at Crossapol. The forecast was for increasing wind all day up to 50mph at 4pm making sail choice a bit tricky. I was first out at about 10 and 4.1 was fine on my Moo 66l. Ru and dad arrived and went out on 4.0 & 4.3. The waves were excellent at first but got worse as the wind increased and ...

Re: Sunday 11 August

Balephetrish Tiree. Northerly, much better than yesterday mainly because I had the right sail - 4.7 and my Moo 66L was perfect. I even managed to get some front side turns on the swells out in the bay. Knackered now after 3 days in a row!

Re: Saturday 10 August

As Ru says Tirree has been a bit odd this August. We've had a ESE 4.7 day at Balephuil, an easterly at Crossapol, northerly flat water blasting ar Gott and yesterday's northerly fun and games at Balephetrish. Quite a few out with an audience of several seals out in the bay. Looks like the same again...

Re: What's wrong with windsurfing?

Back to windsurfing! I'm in Tiree for a month, not much wind so far so on Monday I went to the windsurfing loch to try and learn to tack. The SW wind is always stronger there and there was enough for my 100L & 4.7 so spent 3 hours practicing with Ruaraidh and his dad Ronnie (the other one). The loch...

Re: What's wrong with windsurfing?

Can you use those wings on ordinary windsurfers? I can plane in 14 mph on my 100L exite ride & 6.5, wonder how it would work with a wing?

Re: Tuesday 30th July

A classic day at Hayling, once the tide had gone down a bit and the wind swung more SW. I launched at 2 on Moo 66L & 3.4 Taka 4 fully stacked at first as the wind was gusting to 40 mph. The waves were coming in from the SE and were really smooth at various places across the sandbar allowing brillian...

Tuesday 29th July

So, where to sail on the south coast tomorrow? What with a Southerly first thing, high tide @ mid morning and possible thunder and lightning where's the best place? Avon? Worthing ? Any suggestions?

Re: Custom board manufacturers UK or Europe

As Ru says I love my Moo Custom 66L and sail it probably 90% of the time. I weigh 56 Kilos so getting a small enough board has always been tricky. When I retired in 2016 I decided to treat myself to my first brand new board since 2000. I contacted every dealer in the country and nobody had a current...
